Tools Required:
-Sharp Scissors
-Plastic Squeegee / Coin (or other device to rub decal transfer
with)
Tools Recommend:
-Kylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating #1303
Each decal has three pieces:
1. The top layer is the transfer tape.
2. The middle layer is the printed decal film.
3. The bottom layer is the backing tape.
You should read these instructions all the way through before
starting. The surface must be clean, and free of all oils, waxes
and dirt. These decals come to you in three layers. The top layer
is called transfer tape. It looks like transparent tape. The middle
layer is the actual decal. The bottom layer is a transparent backing
tape treated with a release agent.
Application:
Remove decal sheet from packaging gently. Cut out decal using a
small sharp pair of scissors leaving as little space as possible
between the decal print and cutting edge. Store remainder of decal
sheet in supplied packaging this will prevent oils and moisture from
coming in contact with sheet.
Carefully remove the backing tape from the decal. Apply decal to
clean dry surface with the graphic faced down avoiding air holes.
Rub decal aggressively with plastic squeegee, finger nail, coin, or
wooden stick making sure all air bubbles are removed.
Carefully peel off the transfer tape starting at a corner making
sure that the decal and print as been applied to the application
surface.
Optional Clear Coating:
To protect decals, spray over decal with an acrylic clear
coating spray. We suggest Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating
#1303, we can not guarantee the performance of any other clear
coat. You must first apply 2-3 very thin mist coats over the decal;
allowing it to dry each time. After you have sealed the decal with
thin coats you may apply a heavy coat.
Removing Rub-On Decals:
You can remove rub-on decals by placing decal in hot water for
10-20 minutes and peel off with finger nail. If hot water is not
available or practical depending on what the decal was applied to
then you may heat up the decal using a hair dryer and peel with
finger nail.
Final Note:
The application of rub-on decals requires patience, however they
are much easier then waterslide decals. If this is your first time
applying a rub-on decal, please try some samples first. We cannot
be responsible for replacing decals that have been damaged during
application. |
